FAQs

  • This is a private pay practice so I do not accept insurance. When I say private, I really mean private. I take your confidentiality and privacy seriously. If you were to use insurance, I would have to provide a diagnosis for you to receive treatment, which means you have to be distressed enough to qualify for a diagnosis. I strongly believe everyone deserves treatment for mental health concerns, even if they do not qualify for a diagnosis. I also believe the client and therapist alone should decide on the treatment plan instead of the insurance company. By paying out of pocket for your treatment, you get to decide how often you would like to come to therapy, and we can decide together on the treatment that would best suit your needs.

Even though I am an out of network provider, you may be eligible to receive partial reimbursement for our sessions from your insurance. I can provide a "superbill" that can be submitted to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. The reimbursement rate may vary — I highly suggest you check with your insurance if you are hoping to use this method. If you choose to go this route, I will have to provide an accurate mental health diagnosis and it will become part of your permanent medical record.

  • I see a limited number of sliding scale clients through Open Path Collective. I do currently have openings for Open Path members, please see their website for more information.

  • It depends on the individual and what issues they’re dealing with. Some clients only need to come for a short period of time, while others attend therapy for many months. During your intake session we will create a treatment plan together and we can discuss a more personalized treatment timeline. I know therapy is an invest so I always aim to help my clients meet their therapeutic goals as quickly as possible!

  • At this time, I do not. In the future I may offer in person sessions in the Lake Country area.

  • Click here to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation. Because my practice is part time, I prefer to schedule these calls in advance so I can be sure I can give you my full attentions, and that I am in a location where your call can be confidential. If you just call me, I will likely not be able to answer because I am with another client, or I may be with my family or in the car with another person, which puts your confidentiality at risk. I’d love to save you the frustration of leaving a voicemail then having to wait for a call back.

During your consultation call, I want to make sure that we both feel we are a good fit to work together. We'll talk briefly about what you’re hoping to get out of therapy, as well as logistical things like scheduling and payment, and answer any questions that you have. If we decide that we’d like to work together, we will schedule a first official appointment on that same phone call or you can schedule through the client portal.

I will then send you paperwork through the secure electronic health record patient portal. You can fill out the paperwork online and submit without having to print anything out. We can also message through the same portal if needed.

  • Yes, I do offer Christian counseling. I am devoted to my faith and am happy to incorporate a faith-based perspective if that is important you to. If your faith is an important part of your life, we should bring that into the therapy room. You do not need to be a Christian to work with me.
